In March 2015, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to initiate the Countywide Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment. This represents an unprecedented effort to document existing parks and recreation facilities in cities and unincorporated communities in Los Angeles County, and to use these data to determine the scope, scale, and location of park need in the County.
The inventory and analysis of parks and open space that was completed during the course of the Parks Needs Assessment generated many maps and new datasets. These maps and data are now available to the public for download. For additional information about the Parks Needs Assessment, please visit the project website at www.lacountyparkneeds.org
