Summary
In 2013, the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation was awarded a grant from the Statewide Prop 84 CALFIRE Inventory Program. Grant monies are to be used toward the collection of tree inventories within underserved areas of the community. The Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department identified 26 parks which meet the criteria of the grant guidelines. These parks were inventoried in two phases. Phase 1 included 17 parks; Phase 2 includes 9 parks. All recorded park tree were populatted with species information as well as overall health, maintenance and spatial needs. Tree inventory was conducted based on inventory criteria required by the CALFIRE grant guidelines:
